The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) Distringuished Service Award was presented to former Hanna Mayor, Pat Burns on November 28, 2007 at the Opening Ceremonies of the annual AUMA Convention in Calgary.

 

This award recognizes the dedication of Elected Official's of Urban Municipalities in Alberta who have served twenty (20) years or more on Municipal Council.

The three nominees of the Distinglushed Service Award were piped in along with an additional 6 award nominees, Special Dignitary Guests and the AUMA Board of Directors.  Burns served 12 years as Mayor and 21 years as a member of Council for the Town of Hanna.

The late Harry Gordon of Hanna and former resident Dave Dzuba received Citizenship Medals at a banquet held in Stettler on November 29th in commemoration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of her majesty's reign as Queen of Canada. These local Canadians have made significant contributions to their fellow citizens, community and their country. The Town of Hanna Council and staff would like to congratulate both Dave and the late Mr. Gordon's family on their commitment to their community.   

Mayor Pat Burns presents Evangeline Lamson with a gift for 13 years of service as Council's Representative to the Marigold Library Board. Mrs. Lamson's commitment and guidance as representative on the Board is greatly appreciated by Council.
