Announcing! Epic Adventures

June 29, 2020

What’s the Program Look Like?

We have had a lot of fun pulling together a program that offers a balance for families who feel comfortable gathering with others but still maintaining social distancing and following COVID-19 Alberta Health Services Protocols.

It’s a challenge we are up for but we know it will come with growing pains.  Parents and campers are encouraged to speak with one of the program leaders if they have concerns or suggestions.

There is a lot of information and different programs available so staying informed and current may be a concern.  Be sure to regularly check or the Town Facebook Page @HannaTown for updates and changes.

Contact: Centennial Place (403) 854-4700 for additional information

Ages: 5-12 years
$5 fee payable upon registration.

Fun in the Park Tuesdays

Tuesdays at 2:00 pm in Hector King-Hunter Park.  These events are geared for both Epic Campers and/or Families to enjoy.

There is no fee, but pre-registration is still required.   Watch for fun such as Zumba,  DANCEPL3Y, Yoga and more. (Note: This program may be moved to Thursday if rained out on Tuesday.)

Pop Up Thursdays

Thursdays at 1:00 pm are set aside for weekly events geared for both Epic Campers and/or families to enjoy.

There is no fee, but pre-registration is still required. *Note:  Pop-Up Thursday may be replaced by Fun in the Park Tuesday if the Tuesday program is rained out.

Weekly Scavenger Hunts

A free program, Sarah will be releasing a new Scavenger Hunt each Monday.  These hunts will appeal to the entire family including friends, grandma’s, uncles, you get the idea. Pre-Registration is NOT required for the scavenger hunts.

The hunts are not only fun, but they are also educational and serve to unite Hanna & area residents during this unprecedented era of social distancing.  Be sure to watch for the weekly clue.  The best way is to sign up for our e-News newsletter found at You can always unsubscribe once summer is over.

Fees: Mon, Wed, Fri program is  $5/day per child

Our Staff

Angela McGillion, Community Services Programmer, and certified HIGH FIVE® Trainer oversees the recruitment and hiring of the enthusiastic and engaging staff you want interacting with your children in a summer camp environment. She is focused on providing caring leaders that will support and encourage your child during their adventures with us.

To ensure these qualities, the Town of Hanna trains all leaders working with children in HIGH FIVE® ‘Principles of Healthy Child Development’ (PHCD) and Standard First Aid. Other opportunities for professional development are also encouraged when available.

Program Manager

Sarah Palmer has been a leader with Epic for many years. Currently, Sarah is in her first year of the Bachelor of Education Program. She is very passionate about working with children, enjoys a variety of sports, and is community minded.  She is very excited about an ‘Epic’
