To make this 2025-26 season a success, the Hanna Havoc is looking for billet families. The USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League) is bringing elite, structured and highly competitive hockey to Hanna as part of the league’s new Alberta Division. With a proven track record of developing players into NCAA, pro and international levels, the USPHL is North America’s premier path for serious athletes.

  • Billet a player aged 16-20
  • Provide a clean bedroom and nutritious meals.
  • Offer a safe and supportive home environment.
  • Encourage players as they balance hockey, school and life on he road.
  • Receive free season tickets and exclusive events.
  • Monthly stipend provided.
  • Become a second family, a mentor, a fan and help shape the future of a young athlete.

Players are respectful, committed and here to make a positive impact in the community – not just on the ice.

Your Questions Answered: The Town of Hanna is pleased to be working with the Hanna Havoc team to help spread the word about this project. We realize that this has raised many questions. Most have been answered in previous releases but in the coming days and weeks, we will endeavor to provide answers to the most often asked questions.

What about Hanna Minor Hockey? Rest assured, Town staff are well aware that the priority of the Town and of Council remains with our local youth. Even though Hanna Havoc are aged 16-20, they are not considered a youth team.

Will my child lose his practice time? No. Havoc practices are M-T during the day.

Why am I hearing about this now? Why not sooner? This request has moved very quickly. The organization had been approaching towns through the month of July but not received any interest in renting their ice to another team. When Facilities Manager, Kevin Olsen suggested that Hanna might be interested, but ice times for minor sports had to be maintained. The league felt that weekday daytime practices and Saturday night games would not interfere.

I’ve heard: Not sure where ‘you heard’ but if you didn’t read it here, in an official Town of Hanna release, don’t trust it.

I’m interested in sponsorship: The contact information is included in each release. We are sure the team would be happy to hear from you.
