This week is a chance for us all to celebrate Small Business Week here in Hanna from October 19-25. It’s a time to give a big shoutout to local shops, services, and entrepreneurs who make our town special.

Small Business Week is a national event put on by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), and for 45 years entrepreneurs have come together to celebrate the hard work it takes to run a business.

This years focus is all about change, new technology like AI, shifts in the economy, and a new generation of business owners stepping up. It’s a reminder that small businesses are at the heart of innovation, always adapting and moving forward.

Here in Hanna, our small businesses do more than just open their doors—they support local events, create jobs, and add personality to our streets. They’re our neighbors, our friends, and a big part of what makes this community feel like home.

During Small Business Week, we encourage everyone to:

  • Shop local and show appreciation.
  • Thank a business owner for all they do.
  • Share a favourite local spot or story on social media.

Let’s take this week to celebrate the dreamers, doers, and risk-takers who keep Hanna thriving. Thank you for all you do!
