Today in Hanna

March 24, 2020

  • Town Office (302 2 Ave West) is now closed to the public.
  • Town Staff are still reporting to work during business hours as usual but the public facilities are closed to the public.  Full-time staff have been advised that there is no contemplation of layoffs at this time and are using this time to do thorough cleaning, address repair and maintence of pubic facilities.  Unfortunately, part-time staff working at Centennial Place have received a temporary lay off.
  • To date, the Town of Hanna has NOT declared a State of Local Emergency.  Citizens and businesses continue to work cooperatively, people are not hoarding or looting and businesses are not price gouging.  This is closely monitored and can be declared quickly if needed.  A State of Local Emergency provides the municipality with additional powers not available on a day to day basis.
  • Many Hanna businesses have modified their hours of operation and/or the services they provide.  Businesses are encouraged to contact staff at the Town Office with any updates or brief messages for the public.  Citizens are urged to use this resource when phoning ahead for products or services.  Many have closed their doors to the public but are still operating and are happy to make those arrangements with you.  Those details can be found on our website.  Business Modified Hours and Services
  • Council has not met to determine if or when utility, taxes or other invoices will have deferral dates but administration has been able to make some decisions that will help some Hanna citizens.  Please read about the Town Payment Deferral Options.
