Summer is here, and although our world is much different than last summer we are slowly returning to a sense of normality.
Most of our public facilities are open including Centennial Place, the Town Office, Fox Lake Park, and of course the Swimming Pool. I want to commend the town staff on a job well done in preparing for opening these facilities. There was a lot of work that had to be completed under Covid-19 protocols. I hope everyone who wishes to are able to enjoy these facilities.
Every property owner should have received their tax notices in the mail. For the most part, property owners should see little to no increase and more than likely a decrease to those taxes. Your Council and Administration worked very hard to adjust our budget to reflect a zero tax increase for this year.
Finally, I want to inform you that we are having our regular council meetings virtually on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:00 PM and the last Wednesday at 8:30 AM every month. You can join in the meeting through your phone or online. Details for joining these meetings can be found on our website at hanna.ca/events.
It is important that we all take care of our mental and physical health. I would encourage all of you to continue with your regular lives as much as you can, of course practicing social distancing and following our provincial guidelines.
Stay safe, be well, and enjoy your summer!
Chris Warwick, Mayor
