The 2025 Municipal Election is scheduled for Monday, October 20. Voters in Hanna will be heading to the polls to elect one Mayor and six Councillors. Whether you are a first-time voter or just need a quick refresher, here’s what you can expect when you arrive at the voting station, whether you choose to vote in the Advance vote or on Election Day, the process is the same.

  • You will be greeted by election staff, who will ask for ID and verify your eligibility.
  • You’ll be handed a ballot listing all nominated candidates for Mayor and Councillor.
  • Proceed to a private voting booth to mark your selections.
  • Deposit your completed ballot in the secure ballot box, as directed.

The process is fast, private, and confidential. Election officials will be on hand to answer any questions or provide assistance if needed.
If you require an election officer to attend to your place of residence, due to physical incapacity, please ensure you contact the Town Office before 9:30am on Monday Oct 20th to make arrangements.

Key Dates:
Oct 14’25: Advance Vote at Council Chambers – 12 noon – 3:00pm
(Elector Assistance at Home is available if arrangements have been made with the Town Office before 9:30am on October 20th.)
Oct 20, ’25: Election Day:
Oct 23 ’25: Campaign Sign Removal Deadline
