Supporting Hanna youth to participate in sport since 1998, KidSport Hanna has provided 388 children the opportunity to participate in organized sport programs with a total of $59,860.50 in funding.

Recent funding reports shows that 2023 provided 27 children with $4,875 while 2024 reported 12 children were supported with $3,095.

This fund has been sustained primarily through the generous donation from individuals, groups and businesses.   Recent support through the Government of Alberta has allowed KidSport Hanna (through KidSportAlberta) to reach more children through sport through their “Every Kid Can Play Program”.

In 2023, the Government of Alberta launched the EveryKid Can Play Program, further to the success of their previous Return to Play Program. In doing so, they committed $3,460,150 to KidSport Alberta to promote equal play across the province of Alberta by providing subsidies for program registration costs to help children and youth whose families require financial assistance to access sport, physical activity, and recreation. These funds enabled the KidSport committee volunteers to provide direct financial support to more than 12,229 children across Alberta by distributing up to $350 per child registration to eligible families.

KidSport Hanna is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to assist all children benefit from being involved in sports.   Local Chapter President Sarah Palmer stated that “KidSport Hanna is grateful for the funding provided through the Government of Alberta Every Kid Can Play Program as it allows them to continue the great work of supporting children and families through sport.”
