We are pleased to introduce Skye Suntjens, the Town of Hanna’s new Bylaw Officer for the Town of Hanna. Skye comes with a background and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, as well as a diploma in policing. She has also worked as a Bylaw Officer in the Town of Drumheller. Bylaw Officers are responsible for enforcing municipal bylaws, promoting community safety, and working collaboratively with Hanna residents.
“I am looking forward to working with residents to keep Hanna a safe and welcoming community. I’m excited to meet so many new people” Suntjens said.
“Skye is a welcome addition to the team,” said Matthew Norburn, Town of Hanna’s Chief Administrative Officer. “She brings a fresh set of eyes and has already shown a practical approach to education over enforcement in the community.”
Suntjens is not completely new to Hanna as she has family residing here. When Skye is not busy patrolling the streets in our town she enjoys biking and listening to true crime podcasts.
When you see Skye making the rounds in the bylaw vehicle, be sure to welcome her with a wave or friendly smile. If you have questions about bylaws and enforcement, visit hanna.ca/bylaws-policies If you want to submit a formal bylaw complaint, visit Report a Concern | Hanna, Alberta.
