The Town of Hanna wants to recognize and thank Brendan Roncin and the participants of the Ball Hockey Tournament held in Hanna on Aug 3, 2025.
This was the 3rd Annual tournament that Brendan has organized and he hopes to continue hosting it for years to come.
This year there was two age groups: 11-14 and 15+/adults. There was 6 teams in each age group which totaled approximately 90 players. 3 of the 12 teams were from out of town and there was approximately 125 spectators throughout the day.
Brendan states –
“Hockey is my life; it always has been and always will be. I share this passion with a few of my close friends, and together we decided to give back to hockey and our community. Our goal is to get a fence around the outdoor rink. We hope this will encourage more kids to use the outdoor rink and have fun playing hockey. This year, we raised $2,650 towards the cause.
I would like to thank everyone who helped put on the event, which includes, but is not limited to, those who helped with the concession and bar, Sami Kemaldean for making pizza, the town for allowing us to use their facility, and everyone else who came out to support the event. I hope everyone had fun, and I hope to see everyone next year!”
