What residents need to know:

Council has officially passed Community Standards Bylaw 1046-2026, a modernized bylaw that brings several older regulations together into one clearer, easier-to-use document. This will replace both the Unsightly & Snow Removal Bylaw 927-2009 and the Noise Control & Special Events Bylaw 944-2008, creating a single set of expectations for property maintenance, noise, and community conduct.

By consolidating these bylaws, Council aims to improve clarity for residents, streamline enforcement, and ensure community standards reflect current needs.

Key Differences in the New Bylaw

· Combines the Unsightly Premises & Snow Removal Bylaw 947-2009 and the Noise Control & Special Events Bylaw 944-2008

· Goes more in-depth into noise and unsightly premises

· Quiet hours are now clearly defined as 11:00 pm – 6:00 am

· Introduces lights shining into neighbouring premises as a nuisance

· Ice removal was taken out due to concerns regarding difficulty in removing or managing ice

Council believes approving this bylaw will result in more efficient enforcement as officers
can reduce confusion for property owners.
