#WheretoTurn
Alberta has the third highest rate of self-reported spousal violence among Canadian provinces, yet family violence is preventable. November is Family Violence Prevention Month (FVPM) in Alberta. It is a time to increase awareness of the warning signs of family violence and the resources and supports available so we can work together to end family violence and build healthier relationships in our communities.
By engaging in education and open dialogue, we break the barriers of silence and stigma, encouraging individuals to speak out and seek help.
Let this week be a reminder that love is not synonymous with pain, that respect is the foundation of every healthy relationship, and that our kindness can shatter the walls of silence. Together, let us create a world where every family can thrive, where every child grows up feeling safe, and where every individual is empowered to break free from the chains of violence.
