Maligayang Pasko
Maligayang Pasko is Merry Christmas in Filipino. Christmas in the Philippines is a vibrant and heartwarming celebration that begins as early as September, with the “Ber months” marking the start of festive preparations. Streets and homes light up with colorful parols (star-shaped lanterns) and twinkling lights, while malls play cheerful carols. Family and faith take center stage, with Simbang Gabi, a nine-day series of dawn masses, leading up to Christmas Day. Noche Buena, the grand Christmas Eve feast, brings families together to enjoy traditional Filipino dishes like lechon, hamón, and bibingka. The spirit of bayanihan (community cooperation) and generosity fills the air, making it a uniquely joyous and heartfelt season.
