The Alberta Government has introduced a new one-time Alberta Energy Rebate to help with the cost of groceries, fuel and other everyday essentials. Starting July 1, eligible Albertans can apply to get $100 through our secure online portal.

The rebate will replace the Fuel Tax Relief Program that would have taken effect on July 1. The rebate provides 50% more in savings per person than the average Albertan would have saved on fuel taxes over 3 months, while offering more choice and flexibility how to spend it.

Eligibility

  • you must be 18 years of age or older as of July 1, 2026
  • you must be an Alberta resident
  • you must of filed your 2025 tax return
  • your household income must be $225,000 or less

Albertans receiving the Alberta Seniors Benefit and those enrolled in Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) – including AISH clients transitioned to the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) – and Income Support will be automatically enrolled to receive their rebate. No application is required.

Applications will be accepted from July1, 2026 – September 30, 2026.
