
The Town of Hanna is seeking a motivated and adaptable Public Works Operator III to support the maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including roads, utilities, equipment, and public facilities. This full-time, permanent position reports to the Public Works Foreman and is part of a team dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and year-round services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain light and heavy-duty equipment (e.g., graders, loaders, sweepers, tandem trucks).
- Perform maintenance of streets, water/wastewater systems, solid waste collection, and cemetery grounds.
- Use manual and powered hand tools for repairs and routine infrastructure upkeep.
- Assist with building maintenance, seasonal operations, and emergency response.
- Maintain records and follow safety, environmental, and OH\&S regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Alberta Class 3 driver’s licence (air brake endorsement is an asset).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and physical ability to perform outdoor labour in all weather.
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
